Das fortschrittliche Zusammenspiel von Software und Technik bei SureSmile verwendet eine vollständige „root-to-crown“-Analyse, um ein biologisch erreichbares und effizientes Ergebnis sicherzustellen. Seit mehr als 15 Jahren werden durch digitale SureSmileBehandlungspläne und individuell geformte Bögen Patienten bis zu 50 Prozent schneller behandelt als in der herkömmlichen Kieferorthopädie. Außerdem besitzt die Software eine einzigartige Funktion, die es dem Arzt ermöglicht, die Zähne auf dem Foto des Patienten digital zu überlagern und innerhalb des Smiledesigns neu zu positionieren, sodass eine optimale Ästhetik gewährleistet ist.
Darüber hinaus ist die Software in der Lage, mehrere Geräte für einen einzelnen Patienten zu planen und eine Hybrid-Therapielösung (bestehend aus Brackets und transparenten Schienen) zu erstellen. Der Arzt verfügt so über größere Kontrolle bei schwierigen Behandlungen, während der Patient ein höchst ästhetisches Ergebnis bekommt. Weltweit werden jedes Jahr etwa 12 Millionen kieferorthopädische Fälle behandelt, die Mehrheit davon durch Spezialisten. Darunter ist das am schnellsten wachsende Segment die Behandlung von Erwachsenen mit transparenten Schienen. Die größten Märkte für Kieferorthopädie sind Nordamerika und Europa, gefolgt von den aufstrebenden Wachstumsmärkten im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum wie Japan oder China.
Wie denken Sie persönlich über die aktuelle Positionierung von Dentsply Sirona auf dem kieferorthopädischen Markt?
Die Übernahme von OraMetrix bringt ein fortschrittliches digitales Diagnose- und Behandlungsplanungssystem in die Dentsply Sirona-Familie ein. Die Flexibilität, Geschwindigkeit und effiziente Kontrolle dieses Systems ermöglicht es Klinikern, unterschiedliche Behandlungen ihrer Patienten auf einer einzigen Plattform durchzuführen. In Kombination mit unseren branchenführenden Technologielösungen aus den SBUs CAD/CAM und Imaging sowie der Innovation des traditionellen Produktportfolios der SBU Orthodontics glaube ich, dass diese neue Plattform uns für die Zukunft als Komplettanbieter kieferorthopädischer End-to-End-Lösungen sehr gut positioniert.
Wie arbeitet die SBU Orthodontics mit den SBUs Imaging und CAD/CAM zusammen? Wo sehen Sie Anknüpfungspunkte?
Die SBU Orthodontics ist an Synergien sowohl beim Verkauf als auch bei Technologieprojekten mit den SBUs CAD/CAM und Imaging aktiv beteiligt. Mit der jüngst erfolgten Markteinführung des SureSmile Aligner im Mai 2018 haben sich Orthodontics und CAD/CAM zusammengetan, um das Angebot für OmniCam und transparente Schienen zu bündeln. Gleichzeitig investieren wir viel Zeit und Ressourcen, um das Zusammenspiel zwischen OmniCam und unseren 3D-Bildverarbeitungsgeräten mit der Behandlungsplanungssoftware OraMetrix zu optimieren.
Wie werden die Mitarbeiter zu den OraMetrix-Lösungen geschult, und wie läuft die Integration der neuen Kollegen von OraMetrix in die Dentsply Sirona-Familie?
OraMetrix beschäftigt insgesamt 125 Mitarbeiter an den zwei Hauptstandorten in Berlin und Dallas, Texas. Dallas dient als Hauptsitz für OraMetrix und beherbergt die Produktion und das Digital Lab Technical Center. Berlin fungiert als zentrales Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum für Software- und Hardware-Entwicklungen.
Anfang Mai, nur zwei Tage nach der Akquisition, führte das Unternehmen ein eineinhalbtägiges gemeinsames Training für Vertrieb und Marketing zu OraMetrix durch. Darüber hinaus haben wir an beiden Standorten mehrere Town Hall Meetings durchgeführt, um die Mitarbeiter mit der breiten Organisation von Dentsply Sirona sowie der SBU Orthodontics vertraut zu machen. Bis weit in das Jahr 2019 hinein werden wir wichtige Bereiche des OraMetrix-Geschäfts weiter in die SBU Orthodontics integrieren.
Gleichzeitig müssen wir uns auf die sich uns bietenden erheblichen Wachstumschancen konzentrieren, während wir unser globales Team für den Direktvertrieb mit der Einführung des neuen SureSmile Aligners erweitern.
