CEREC-Familie
Die Produktfamilie für die Chairside-Herstellung von CEREC Zirconia in der Praxis: CEREC AC mit Omnicam, CEREC Fräs- und Schleifwerkzeug sowie der neue Sinterofen CEREC SpeedFire.
Die SBU CAD/CAM war bereits vor über 30 Jahren ein Vorreiter in Sachen Digitalisierung, als sie mit der Einführung des ersten CAD/CAM-Systems wesentlich zur Verbesserung der Zahnmedizin beitrug. Heute ist sie führend bei CAD/CAM-Innovationen, sowohl für die Dentalpraxis als auch für Labore. Der Geschäftsbereich hat derzeit 268 Mitarbeiter an seinem Hauptstandort in Bensheim, Deutschland, und wird von Group Vice President Frank Thiel geführt. Zu den Hauptmärkten der Geschäftseinheit zählen die USA, Japan und Deutschland, gefolgt von China, Australien, Frankreich und Brasilien.
Die SBU ist bekannt als globaler Marktführer für CEREC- und inLab-Produkte. CEREC ermöglicht es Zahnärzten, Patienten in einer Sitzung mit Restaurationen wie Inlays, Onlays, Kronen, Brücken und Veneers zu versorgen, ohne physische Abdrücke zu nehmen. Gleichzeitig bietet inLab den Laboren softwaregesteuerte Scan- und Design-Fertigungseinheiten an.
Weltweit wurden mehr als 30 Millionen Zahnrestaurationen mit dem CEREC-System durchgeführt, eine sogar an einem besonderen Patienten: Die Behandlung einer 12-jährigen Löwin stellte das Veterinärteam im Zoo von Ebeltoft, Dänemark, vor eine große Herausforderung, denn erwachsene Löwen können nicht länger als drei Stunden betäubt werden. Durch die Nutzung des CEREC-Systems konnte das Team die Behandlung in einer einzigen Sitzung durchführen.
Preisgekröntes Design
Einige CAD/CAM-Produkte haben begehrte Designpreise gewonnen, etwa den iF Design Award im Jahr 2012 und den Red Dot Design Award für Produktdesign im Jahr 2013 für die CEREC Omnicam. Einen Red Dot Design Award erhielten der inEos X5-Laborscanner im Jahr 2014 sowie der Sinterofen CEREC SpeedFire im Jahr 2016.

Zusammenarbeit für zukünftigen Erfolg
Aus der Fusion haben sich zahlreiche Gelegenheiten zur Zusammenarbeit zwischen den SBUs ergeben, was bereits zu sehr erfolgreichen gemeinsamen Projekten geführt hat. Ein Beispiel ist die Implants World Summit Tour 2017 in Nizza. Dort werden die SBUs Implants, Imaging und CAD/CAM den digitalen Workflow gemeinsam darstellen und die mit der Fusion verbundenen Vorteile für Kunden aufzeigen. Die SBUs Prosthetics, Implants und CAD/CAM arbeiten ebenfalls eng zusammen, beispielsweise am gemeinsamen Konzept für den Zahntechniker-Kongress 2018. Sie stellen damit unter Beweis, dass Dentsply Sirona der beste Partner für Labore ist und für praktisch jeden Bedarf eine Lösung anbietet.
Weitere Zusammenarbeit und Integrationsmöglichkeiten schaffen ein spannendes Umfeld für diese SBU.
In der Vergangenheit habe ich diese Art von Live-Demos oft zusammen mit anderen Materiallieferanten gemacht. Jetzt, da wir unser Portfolio um den CEREC SpeedFire Ofen erweitert haben und durch die Fusion Materialspezialisten im Unternehmen haben, können wir unsere eigenen Materialien bei den Demos verwenden.

German Design Award
Der inEos X5 Laborscanner gewann den German Design Award 2016 mit einer besonderen Erwähnung für sein ausgezeichnetes Produktdesign in der Kategorie „Medizin“.
Meilenstein bei CEREC-Umfrage
Eine Onlineumfrage unter Zahnärzten in Deutschland und den USA ergab, dass bereits zwei Drittel der Teilnehmer CEREC Zirconia kennen und wissen, dass dieses Material mit CEREC hergestellt werden kann.
Bestes Neues Praxisprodukt: CEREC SpeedFire von Dentsply Sirona
Adam Busch, Product Marketing Manager Clinical CAD/CAM, nahm den „Preis für das Beste Neue Praxisprodukt“, den Sinterofen CEREC SpeedFire, auf dem Midwinter-Meeting der Chicago Dental Society in Empfang. Der Ofen sintert und glasiert Zirkonoxid-Restaurationen in der Zahnarztpraxis bei der Behandlung in nur einer Sitzung.
iF Design Award 2017 für CEREC SpeedFire
Der CEREC SpeedFire war dieses Jahr der Gewinner des iF Design Awards in der Kategorie „Produkt“. Jedes Jahr organisiert Deutschlands älteste unabhängige Designorganisation, die iF International Forum Design GmbH, die Verleihung des iF Design Awards. Meilensteine in der Entwicklung von CEREC
CEREC wurde in den vergangenen 30 Jahren kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt und ist heute dank hoher klinischer Zuverlässigkeit und intuitiver Bedienung ein etabliertes CAD/CAM-System für die zahnärztliche Praxis. Es ermöglicht als einziges System am Markt definitive Zahnrestaurationen in einer einzigen Sitzung mit einer großen Auswahl moderner Materialien. Darüber hinaus bietet es seinen Nutzern auch bei implantologischen und kieferorthopädischen Anwendungen einen hohen Mehrwert.
1980 Werner H. Mörmann, Professor der Zahnmedizin, und Dr.-Ing. Marco Brandestini beginnen mit der Entwicklung von CEREC an der Universität Zürich. Die Methode wird patentiert.
1985 Unterstützt von Software-Entwickler Dr. Alain Ferru (Zürich, Schweiz) entsteht der erste CEREC-Prototyp („Zitrone“). Am 19. September wird am Zahnärztlichen Institut der Universität Zürich unter Verwendung der Keramik VITABLOCS Mark I von Vita Zahnfabrik die erste CEREC-Behandlung durchgeführt.
1986 Nach Abschluss einer Lizenzvereinbarung steigt Siemens Dental, aus der elf Jahre später Sirona hervorgeht, in die Serienproduktion von CEREC ein.
1987 Offizielle Markteinführung von CEREC 1 Seriengeräten.
1988 Auf der Internationalen Dental-Schau IDS feiert CEREC 1 seine Weltpremiere.
1994 Markteinführung von CEREC 2: Die Software erlaubt die Herstellung von Inlays.
1996 Gründung der International Society of Computerized Dentistry. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Computergestützte Zahnheilkunde (DGCZ) existiert zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits seit fünf Jahren.
1997 Neues Software-Modul ermöglicht mit CEREC 2 die Herstellung von Veneers.

2001 Die CEREC-Methode hält mit dem inLab-System Einzug ins zahntechnische Labor.
2002 Sirona meldet den Verkauf des zehntausendsten CEREC-Geräts.
2003 Die neue CEREC 3D-Software gestattet es, Modell und Restauration am Monitor von allen Seiten zu begutachten.
2005 Neue Kronen-Software (automatische Kalkulation der okklusalen Kontaktpunkte von Kronen unter Berücksichtigung des Antagonisten).
2005 CEREC Chairline: die Integration von CEREC in die Behandlungseinheiten M1+ und C2.
2006 CEREC Blocs: Feldspatkeramikblocks für die Chairside-Fertigung.
2007 Die CEREC MC-XL-Schleifmaschine wird der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.
2007 Biogenerisches Zahnmodell für Inlays und Teilkronen.
2008 Die Kombination aus einem mit CEREC erstellten prothetischen Vorschlag und einem Kegelstrahl-Datensatz des 3D-Röntgengeräts GALILEOS ermöglicht die simultane klinische und ästhetische Planung von Implantaten und die Bestellung von Bohrschablonen für eine sichere Behandlung.
2009 Sirona führt die Aufnahmeeinheit CEREC AC mit noch präziserer, blauer Aufnahmetechnologie (CEREC Bluecam) ein. Die digitalen Abformdaten können nun ganz einfach über die Internetplattform Sirona Connect an das zahntechnische Labor übertragen werden.
2010 Die Biogenerik-Software (nun auch für Kronen) rekonstruiert vollautomatisch die ursprüngliche Zahnmorphologie unter Zuhilfenahme von patientenindividuellen Merkmalen.
2010 Markteinführung inCoris TZI: erstmals für den Zahnarzt erhältliches transluzentes Zirkonoxid.

2015 CEREC Ortho Software 1.1: digitale Abformung mit patentiertem „Guided Scan“ für die Kieferorthopädie. Scan-Daten können zur Herstellung kieferorthopädischer Apparaturen an Labore verschickt werden.
2015 Die CEREC SW 4.4 ist intuitiv bedienbar und unterstützt dank Biokieferalgorithmen mit hervorragenden Erstvorschlägen und verbesserten Schleifalgorithmen eine noch präzisere Bearbeitung der Restaurationen.
