Die Dentsply Sirona Academy bietet das größte von der Industrie unterstützte klinische Aus- und Weiterbildungsprogramm der Welt.
Mit einem durchdachten Aus- und Weiterbildungprogramm erreicht Dentsply Sirona Zahnärzte und Zahntechniker auf der ganzen Welt. Um diese führende Position beizubehalten, investiert das Unternehmen in neue Technologien. Teams arbeiten an der Entwicklung eines Learning Management Systems (LMS), eine eLearning Plattform, von der aus alle SBUs ihre Clinical-Education-Programme durchführen können. Die DS Academy unterstützt auch angehende Zahnärzte durch Initiativen wie den Global Clinical Case Contest. Weltweit wurden darüber hinaus modernste Aus- und Weiterbildungszentren eröffnet.
Zahlen, Daten, Fakten
Dentsply Sirona hat das erklärte Ziel, Zahnärzten und Zahntechnikern die bestmögliche Versorgung ihrer Patienten zu ermöglichen und auf diese Weise die Mundgesundheit weltweit zu verbessern. Allein im Jahr 2017 hat Dentsply Sirona fast 11.000 Kurse angeboten, die von 410.460 Zahnärzten und Zahntechnikern in 87 Ländern genutzt wurden. Das bedeutet eine beeindruckende Steigerung der Teilnehmerzahl um 20 Prozent gegenüber 2016. Nach den Zahnärzten stellten Studierende die zweitgrößte Gruppe bei den Teilnehmern.
Zahlen & Fakten auf einen Blick
Im Jahr 2017 wurden vor allem Live-Vorträge (40 Prozent), Produktschulungen (29 Prozent) und Hands-on-Trainings (28 Prozent) angeboten. Die RCO APAC verzeichnete mit 4.008 Kursen im Jahresverlauf die höchste Anzahl an Aus- und Weiterbildungen und lag damit leicht über der Zahl in der EMEA-Region (3.708). Alle strategischen Geschäftseinheiten (SBUs) boten im Jahr 2017 Aus- und Weiterbildungen an – die meisten davon entfielen auf die SBU Endodontics mit 3.294 Kursen.
Die Zahlen belegen das Engagement des Unternehmens, Zahnärzte und Zahntechniker darin zu unterstützen, ihre Patienten auf höchstem Niveau zu versorgen. Und auch auf Veranstaltungen wie der Dentsply Sirona World und dem Implant Summit wird Dentsply Sirona künftig Fachbesucher begrüßen und ein inspirierendes fachliches Programm bieten.

Durch die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Vordenkern, Wissenschaftlern, Forschern und Praktikern in ihren lokalen Märkten werden die klinischen Aus- und Weiterbildungskurse den spezifischen Bedürfnissen der Teilnehmer optimal angepasst.
Neue Plattform für klinische Aus- und Weiterbildungskurse
Jedes Jahr bietet Dentsply Sirona der Dentalbranche weltweit klinische Aus- und Weiterbildungskurse an. Die meisten dieser Kurse werden von Trainern geleitet und sind Präsenzveranstaltungen. Sie beinhalten Vorträge, Praxis-Workshops und/oder Produktschulungen. Für die Teilnehmer gibt es viele Möglichkeiten, sich für diese Kurse anzumelden und sie zu bezahlen. Je nach SBU und Landesorganisation ist dieser Prozess unterschiedlich. Das Erfassen von Daten und die Nachverfolgung von Leistungskennzahlen gestaltet sich daher schwierig.
Im Jahr 2017 erhielt Corporate Clinical Affairs die Freigabe und die Mittel, um eine eLearning-Infrastruktur mit einem Learning Management System aufzubauen, das eine effizientere Durchführung von eLearning-Kursen ermöglicht. Das LMS trägt zu einem unternehmensweit einheitlicheren Prozess für die Planung und Durchführung klinischer Aus- und Weiterbildungskurse bei.
Online-Kurse zunehmend gefragt
Nach vollständiger Implementierung im Jahr 2020 können weltweit CE-Kurse, Veranstaltungen, Webinare und interaktive On-Demand-Kurse effizienter als je zuvor erstellt, verwaltet und beworben werden. Die IT-Abteilung arbeitet mit den Marketing- und Clinical-Affairs- Teams innerhalb der RCOs zusammen, um Webinare zu fördern und digitale On-Demand-Inhalte zügig zu erweitern.
58 Webinare und 80 On-Demand-Online- Kurse zum Selbststudium bot Dentsply Sirona im Jahr 2017 an. Ziel des Geschäftsbereichs Corporate Clinical Affairs ist es, das eLearning-Angebot in den nächsten fünf Jahren um je 20 Prozent gegenüber dem jeweiligen Vorjahr zu steigern. Das LMS automatisiert Prozesse und schafft ein ausgezeichnetes Benutzererlebnis.
Nach der Implementierung können sich die Teilnehmer problemlos auf jedem Gerät einloggen und an den Kursen teilnehmen. Auch die Administration der Kurse wird vollständig automatisiert, um Mitarbeitern die Durchführung der Kurse zu erleichtern.
Erste Meilensteine
Das Clinical Education „Learning Management System“ wird in sechs Phasen implementiert. Die ersten beiden Phasen sollen noch im vierten Quartal dieses Jahres abgeschlossen werden. Dazu gehört beispielsweise die Möglichkeit, sich für Online-Kurse direkt anzumelden. Dies wird in Kürze für folgende Länder implementiert: Großbritannien, Australien, die USA und Kanada, gefolgt von Deutschland, Italien, Spanien und Portugal, Frankreich, Schweden und der Benelux-Region im nächsten Jahr.

Studenten im Wettbewerb beim Global Clinical Case Contest
Eine weitere Initiative, die im Rahmen der Dentsply Sirona Academy angeboten wird, ist ein Wettbewerb für Studenten, bei dem klinische Fallstudien in der ästhetischen Zahnheilkunde präsentiert werden. Unterstützt wird er durch die SBU Restorative.
Der Global Clinical Case Contest (GCCC) ist ein jährlich von Dentsply Sirona Restorative ausgeschriebener Wettbewerb für ästhetische Zahnheilkunde. Studierende und Doktoranden der Zahnmedizin mit weniger als zwei Jahren klinischer Erfahrung können mit der Dokumentation eines Patientenfalles teilnehmen. Seit der ersten Ausschreibung vor 14 Jahren haben sich mehr als 2.600 Studenten beteiligt. Der GCCC stärkt so die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Universitäten und Dentsply Sirona. Und: Der Wettbewerb zur Förderung von talentierten jungen Zahnärzten dient dazu, die Produkte von Dentsply Sirona Restorative als Standard in der Aus- und Weiterbildung von Studenten zu etablieren.

Poster-Session in Madrid
Am Wettbewerb 2017/2018 nahmen Studenten von 166 verschiedenen Universitäten teil. Dabei konnte jede Universität einen Tutor für ihre Teilnehmer benennen und bis zu drei Wettbewerbsbeiträge einreichen. Es folgte ein nationaler (oder regionaler) Wettbewerb, um je einen Gewinner für das weltweite Finale zu ermitteln. Dort wurden die Beiträge einer hochrangig besetzten internationalen Jury bei Dentsply Sirona Restorative in Konstanz präsentiert. Die drei besten Teilnehmer erhielten attraktive Preise. Ihre Fälle wurden auch für die Poster-Session auf dem CED/ IADR-NOF-Kongress in Madrid im September 2019 ausgewählt.
Vorjahresgewinner
Der Gewinner im Vorjahr war Paul Drehmann von der Universität Würzburg unter der Leitung von Dr. Britta Hahn. Seine preisgekrönte Fallstudie betraf einen 72-jährigen Patienten, der nach erfolgreicher Parodontalbehandlung eine Verbesserung der ästhetischen Situation wünschte. Der Fall zeigte, dass mit Kompositmaterialien und Schichttechniken vorhersagbare und vor allem ästhetische Ergebnisse erzielt werden können.
Eine Behandlungsoption wäre die Wiederherstellung der Ästhetik mit Vollkeramikverblendungen oder Kronen gewesen. In diesem Fall wurden nach sorgfältiger Absprache mit dem Patienten minimalinvasive direkte Komposit-Restaurationen gewählt. Zur Planung und Gestaltung der Restauration wurde ein digitales diagnostisches Wax-up durchgeführt. Um die palatinalen Konturen der Restaurationen herzustellen, wurde ein Silikonschlüssel angefertigt. Dabei wurden DeTrey Conditioner 36 und Prime&Bond XP verwendet. Die Kombination von ceram.x duo D3 und E2 sowie ceram.x A3 sorgte für ein hervorragendes Oberflächenergebnis.
Der Fall zeigte, dass Kompositmaterialien und Schichttechniken es Zahnärzten ermöglichen, vorhersagbare und ästhetische Ergebnisse zu erzielen, die für den Patienten sehr zufriedenstellend sind. Weitere Informationen zum Global Clinical Case Contest finden Sie hier: www.compass.dentsply.de
