Digital gefertigte Zahnprothesen erfreuen sich guter Kundenrückmeldungen
Den Kunden ein allumfassendes Spektrum an Dentallabor-Lösungen zu bieten, gehört seit langem zum Geschäft von Dentsply Sirona. Im Jahr 2018 schlossen sich mehrere Abteilungen des Unternehmens zu einem neuen Geschäftsbereich zusammen, der heute als DS Lab bekannt ist. Diese Gruppe von Spezialisten für den Bereich Labor hat fortan eine unglaubliche Bandbreite an Produkten und Produktlösungen erarbeitet, um Arbeitsabläufe für Zahntechniker und Labore zu verbessern.
Das DS Lab Team befindet sich stets in engem und direktem Austausch mit Zahntechnikern und Laboren aus der ganzen Welt. In ebenfalls enger Kooperation mit den Country Commercial Organizations (CCOs) bietet DS Lab ein breites Produkt-Portfolio an, von Geräten, über Software und Materialien, bis hin zu Schulungen, die für den Erfolg von Laboren und Zahntechnikern ausschlaggebend sind.
Das aus etwa 1.500 Mitarbeitern bestehende DS Lab Team hat in letzter Zeit eine Reihe von beachtlichen Erfolgen erzielt, etwa die Entwicklung digitaler Arbeitsabläufe auf dem Gebiet der Totalprothetik. Um mehr über relevante Markttrends und die jüngsten spannenden Innovationen von DS Lab im Bereich der Digitalisierung von Design- und Fertigungsprozessen von Zahnersatz zu erfahren, stellte Spotlight Julie Mroziak, Vice President Dentsply Sirona Lab, zwei Fragen:
Welches sind die wichtigsten Trends und Faktoren, in Bezug auf den digitalen Wandel in den Dentallaboren, über die man Bescheid wissen sollte?
Julie Mroziak: Der digitale Wandel, sowohl in den Dentallaboren als auch in den Praxen, ist dynamisch. Aus diesem Grund ist es wichtig, Trends vorzeitig zu erkennen und zu verstehen, damit wir uns auf die richtigen Produktentwicklungen und Innovationen konzentrieren und so den Kundenbedürfnissen gerecht werden können. Bei der Kronen- und Brückenprothetik haben sich digitale Arbeitsprozesse bereits etabliert. Mit unserem inLab-System, dem Scanner inEos X5 über die inLab Software bis zur Fertigungseinheit inLab MC X5, bis materialseitig hin zu der Prothesenbasis Lucitione® 199 Denture Base Disc und die speziell für den digitalen Workflow entwickelten Zahnlinien IPN 3D™ Digital Denture Teeth, haben wir ein stimmiges Gesamtkonzept entwickelt. Das gibt uns die Möglichkeit, digitale Arbeitsabläufe auch in anderen Segmenten der Prothetik zu entwickeln.
Wir sehen uns ganz klar als Partner des Labors, der die digitale Transformation des Labors bei der Umstellung von der analogen auf die digitale Herstellung von Totalprothesen, mit seinem Know-How unterstützt. Die Trends und Voraussetzungen dafür sind in den Ländern unterschiedlich, aber es gibt auch einige Gemeinsamkeiten. Aufgrund der fortschreitenden Laborkonsolidierung ändert sich die Größe der Labore. Einige Labore werden größer, andere kleinere Labore spezialisieren sich auf Nischengeräte(Was soll das sein? Besser nur: Nischen) und -verfahren. (Nicht relevant für D: hier werden keine Hilfskräfte eingesetzt. ) Und die Labore stehen zunehmend unter wirtschaftlichem Druck, die Lieferung von qualitativ hochwertigem Zahnersatz zu einem erschwinglichen Preis zu ermöglichen.
Gemeinsam mit unseren weltweiten Vertrieben müssen wir die Unterschiede von Markt zu Markt erfassen, um sicherstellen zu können, dass wir die richtigen Technologien, Materialien, Dienstleistungen und Werkzeuge für die jeweiligen Märkte anbieten können. Wir müssen auch sicherstellen, dass wir die Labore und Zahntechniker bei der digitalen Transformation der Arbeitsprozesse auch in Zusammenarbeit mit den jeweiligen Zahnärzten unterstützen. Dafür bieten wir Aus- und Fortbildungen an, um das erforderliche Know-How zu vermitteln und zu festigen. Unsere neue inLab Software 20.0 und das Connect Case Portal werden sie dabei unterstützen.
Welche Technologien und Innovationen sollten den Mitarbeitern im gesamten Unternehmen ein wichtiger Begriff sein?
JM: Es gibt so viele großartige Produktinnovationen von DS Lab. Wir haben vor kurzem unsere inLab Software Version 20.0 auf den Markt gebracht. Mit ihr bekommt das Labor die Möglichkeit, Totalprothesen zu designen und anschließend einen von mehreren Fertigungswegen einzuschlagen. Das Schöne daran ist, dass die einfache Handhabung, die Anwender auf der ganzen Welt als Markenzeichen der inLab Software kennen, auch in der Version 20.0 und dem integrierten Totalprothetik-Workflow erhalten bleibt. Da wir vom Zusammenspiel unserer Komponenten und Werkstoffe überzeugt sind und diese als ein stimmiges Gesamtkonzept entwickeln und weiterentwickeln, empfehlen wir grundsätzlich einen nahtlosen Workflow. Gemeint ist damit ein Arbeitsprozess, bei dem man im Dentsply Sirona System bleibt und auch die entsprechenden Materialien von Dentsply Sirona einsetzt - vom Scan mit dem Laborscanner inEos X5, über das Design von Prothesenbasis und -zähnen bis hin zur Übergabe an die Fertigung wird der Zahntechniker Schritt für Schritt von der Software geleitet. So wird der gesamte Prozess einfacher und führt zielsicher zum Ergebnis. Da es sich bei inLab nach wie vor um ein offenes System handelt, ist es zudem aber nach wie vor möglich, Fertigungskomponenten anderer Hersteller über die optionale inLab Software Schnittstelle anzubinden.
Das Prothesenbasismaterial Lucitone 3D Print ist die erste FDA-geprüfte, hochfeste, druckbare Prothesenbasis, die auf den Markt gekommen ist. Der komplette Druck-Workflow umfasst insgesamt fünf Kernmaterial-Systemprodukte: das Prothesenbasismaterial Lucitone 3D Print, IPN 3D-Digital-Prothesenzähne, Lucitone Digital Try-In 3D-Testplatzierungskunststoff, Lucitone Digital Fuse 3-Step 3D-Prothesenklebesystem und inLab Speedcure Processing Unit. Wir arbeiten mit dem Unternehmen „Carbon“ aus San Francisco in Kalifornien zusammen, das führend in der Drucktechnologie ist. Die Materialien und der Carbon-Drucker der M-Serie sind für die Zusammenarbeit entwickelt, getestet und zugelassen worden. Derzeit ist das System nur in den USA erhältlich, aber wir arbeiten daran, die Expansion auch auf Märkten anderer Länder voranzutreiben.
Der digitale Workflow bei der Zahnersatz-Herstellung, den wir entwickelt haben, hat das Interesse einflussreicher Key-Opinion Leader geweckt, worauf wir sehr stolz sind. Es war erstaunlich zu sehen, wie begeistert sie sind, mit uns zusammenzuarbeiten und die Technologie gemeinsam mit uns weiterzuentwickeln. Wir haben Anfang des Jahres 30 Experten an unserem Hanauer Standort zu einer Fortbildungsveranstaltung empfangen. Sehen Sie sich dazu gerne folgendes Video an.
Unsere digital gefertigten Zahnprothesen, die „Digital Dentures “, waren auch ein großes Gesprächsthema auf der Messe „Chicago Midwinter 2020“ im vergangenen Februar. Dieser Erfolg war möglich, weil unsere Mitarbeiter ein kundenorientiertes Produkt geschaffen haben. Drei Teams brachten ihr Fachwissen zusammen: die Gruppe aus Bensheim, Deutschland, die sich auf inLab-Geräte, Software, Scanner und Sinteröfen konzentrierte; die Gruppe aus Hanau, Deutschland, konzentrierte sich auf Verblendkeramik und Zirkoniumdioxid-Technologie; und die Kollegen vom Standort York, Pennsylvania, USA, konzentrierten sich auf alle Materialien für den 3D-Druck und gefrästen Zahnersatz. Wir wollen weiterhin die führende Rolle auf dem Gebiet des digital gefertigten Zahnersatzes übernehmen. Dafür werden wir uns auch weiterhin eng mit Kollegen aus anderen Abteilungen austauschen. Wir freuen uns schon, als nächstes die Produkte unseres Implants--Geschäfts noch tiefer in unsere Workflows zu integrieren.
