Teams und Geschäftsbereiche arbeiten weltweit zusammen, um Aus- und Weiterbildungsprogramme zu entwickeln und umzusetzen, um Wachstum zu fördern und um die Fertigungskapazitäten zu optimieren.
p3 – das internationale Programm für KOLs
Meinungsführer spielen innerhalb der Berufsgruppe der Zahnärzte eine wichtige Rolle. Dentsply Sirona Implants hat p3, das internationale Programm für KOL („Key Opinion Leader“, engl. für Meinungsführer), gemeinsam mit den SBUs CAD/CAM, Imaging und Lab weiterentwickelt, um die nächste Generation von KOLs aufzubauen. Im Jahr 2006 wurde es als Initiative in Deutschland gestartet und umfasst heute Teilnehmer aus 18 Ländern.
Die diesjährigen p3-Teilnehmer kommen aus Brasilien, Frankreich, Deutschland, Italien, den Niederlanden, Polen und Spanien.
p3 steht für „Profession, Passion, Power“ – Englisch für „Beruf, Leidenschaft, Kraft”. Die Kandidaten werden sowohl aufgrund ihrer klinischen Erfahrung und ihrer Expertise als auch ihrer Bereitschaft, sich als öffentlicher Redner zu engagieren, ausgewählt. Zudem sollten sie an einer langen Partnerschaft mit Dentsply Sirona Interesse haben. Innerhalb eines einjährigen Trainingsprogramms durchlaufen sie fünf Trainingsmodule. Dabei werden sie geschult, sicher vor Publikum zu präsentieren, perfekte Bildaufnahmen von klinischen Fällen zu erstellen und Fachartikel zu verfassen. Ein spezielles Coaching unterstützt die Teilnehmer dabei, Themen ansprechend zu gestalten und ein Auditorium dafür zu begeistern.
Der Startschuss für die jeweils neue Gruppe fällt in jedem Jahr mit dem Abschluss der Vorjahresgruppe und einem p3 Alumni Treffen zusammen. Dabei treffen sich die Absolventen und nutzen die Möglichkeit zum Austausch und zur Netzwerkpflege. Auch Dentsply Sirona profitiert davon: Etwa 80 Prozent der Absolventen des Programms sind als Trainer in ihren Regionen tätig, 14 Prozent sind seit 2010 als gefragte Redner auf internationalen Kongressen aufgetreten.
Das Trainingsprogramm 2018/2019 ist ausgebucht und beginnt am 27. April.

Digitale Lösungen
Vom 20. bis 21. April 2018 findet in Frankfurt am Main der Zahntechniker-Kongress statt. Dafür arbeiten die SBUs Implants, Lab, Endodontics und Restorative eng zusammen. Ziel ist es, Zahntechniker dabei zu unterstützen, die Möglichkeiten der Digitalisierung für sich und ihre Labors zu nutzen und mithilfe digitaler Lösungen ihre Zukunft zu gestalten. Der Kongress beginnt mit einem Vorprogramm mit Referenten aus dem Netzwerk PEERS (Plattform für Austausch von Bildung, Forschung und Wissenschaft). Diesesrichtet sich vor allem an junge Zahnärzte. Ein Höhepunkt des anschließenden Hauptprogramms wird die Diskussion rund um das Thema „Internet der Dinge“ und die Auswirkungen der modernen digitalen Technologie auf die Welt der Zahntechnik sein.
Einen Blick über den Tellerrand bietet der Vortrag des Speed-Kletterers Benedikt Böhm. Er spricht darüber, warum Risiko, Entscheidungsfindung, Führung, Zielerreichung, Selbstdisziplin, Selbstlimitierung, Kompromisslosigkeit und vor allem Leichtigkeit sowohl im Extremsport als auch in der Geschäftswelt von entscheidender Bedeutung sind. Der Trend- und Zukunftsforscher Matthias Horx wird in einem Vortrag darüber berichten, warum die Welt nicht schlechter wird, viele Menschen aber fest davon ausgehen.
Am zweiten Tag geht es vor allem um die Aspekte der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Zahntechniker und Zahnarzt. Hier werden auch Lösungen, die zahntechnische und zahnmedizinische Bereiche gleichermaßen betreffen, präsentiert.
Der Skulpt I.Q. wurde Ende Januar 2018 auf dem National Sales Meeting in Dallas, Texas, vorgestellt.
Ein Laser für die Kieferorthopäden
Welche großartigen Ergebnisse die SBU-übergreifende Zusammenarbeitliefern kann, zeigt folgendes Beispiel: Bisher führte die SBU Orthodontics die Lasergeräte Picasso Plus und Picasso Lite Plus von AMD Laser in ihrem Produktportfolio. Da Dentsply Sirona in der SBU Instruments über eigene innovative und hochmoderne Laser verfügt, lag es äußerst nahe, gemeinsam einen Laser speziell für die Kieferorthopädie zu entwickeln. Das Ergebnis der erfolgreichen Zusammenarbeit heißt Sculpt I.Q.
Der neue Laser basiert auf dem Diodenlaser SiroLaser Advance Plus. Von diesem unterscheidet sich der Sculpt I.Q. hinsichtlich einiger technischer Parameter und Features. Neu ist zum Beispiel, dass eine zweite Wellenlänge (660 nm) optional ausgewählt werden kann. Der Sculpt I.Q. ist dazu etwas preisgünstiger als sein „großer Bruder“.
Um eine optimale Produktstrategie für den US-Markt zu entwickeln, arbeitete André Förster, Produktmanager SBU Instruments, mit seinem Kollegen Anthony Vigliotti, Market Development Manager SBU Orthodontics, eng zusammen. Bei den Themen Clinical Training und After-Sales-Support unterstützen die Kolleginnen und Kollegen in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Der neue Sculpt I.Q. Diodenlaser: Er ist das Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den SBUs Instruments und Orthodontics.
Wir sind sehr stolz darauf, den Vertriebskollegen bei Orthodontics einen Laser zur Verfügung zu stellen, den wir inhouse entwickelt haben und der genau auf die Zielgruppe der Kieferorthopäden zugeschnitten ist.
Synergien bei der Instrumentenherstellung
Einer der Vorteile eines weltweit operierenden Unternehmens ist es, die eigenen Produkte an Standorten herzustellen, an denen es die besten Kapazitäten und umfangreiches Knowhow gibt. Aus diesem Grund wurde die Produktion zahnärztlicher Handstücke und Instrumente sowie Röntgenzubehör der Marke Dentsply Sirona Midwest aus dem Werk in Des Plaines nach Bensheim und York verlagert. Die Produktion von Turbinen wird in die Instrumentenfertigung in Bensheim integriert. Die luftgetriebene Midwest Stylus Plus Turbine und die Midwest E Plus Winkelstückserie werden bereits seit Sommer 2016 hier hergestellt.
Am Standort Bensheim wurde in den vergangenen Jahren in neu strukturierte,ökologisch effiziente Produktionslinien und modernste Anlagen zur Herstellung von Best-in-Class-Produkten investiert. Rund 250 Ingenieure und Forscherarbeiten derzeit im Innovationszentrum des Standortes Bensheim und entwickeln ständig neue Lösungen und Produkte, die den Anforderungen der Kunden in allen Bereichen gerecht werden.
Midwest ist eine erfolgreiche Traditionsmarke in den USA, der Zahnärzte seit vielen Jahren vertrauen. Dass diese Produkte jetzt in Bensheim hergestellt werden, stärkt die Marke Midwest, da es das Qualitätssiegel „Made in Germany“ in den amerikanischen Dentalmarkt bringt. Jan Siefert, Group Vice President Instruments, erklärt: „Ziel ist es, die innerbetriebliche Zusammenarbeit weiter zu optimieren. So fördern wir die Entwicklung besserer, sicherer und schnellerer Lösungen, die einen Mehrwert für unsere Kunden und letztendlich für den Patienten schaffen.“

Dentagen auf Stippvisite in Bensheim
Im September 2017 besuchten rund 20 Vertreter von Dentagen, der Genossenschaft für gewerbliche zahntechnische Labore, den Bensheimer Standort von Dentsply Sirona. Sie trafen sich hier mit erfahrenen Anwendern sowie mit Experten aus dem Bereich inLab sowie der ehemaligen SBU Prosthetics, um Neues über die für das Labor entwickelten Innovationen zu erfahren und über diese zu diskutieren.
Im Februar 2018 wurde das Geschäftsfeld inLab Equipment und Technologie mit dem Materialgeschäft von ehemals Dentsply Sirona Prosthetics zu einem neuen strategischen Geschäftsbereich – der SBU Lab – zusammengeführt. Nach der erfolgreichen Fusion von Dentsply Sirona ist dies der logische nächste Schritt, um das gemeinsame Angebot an Dentallösungen für Dentallabore weiterzuentwickeln.
In einer Diskussionsrunde nutzten die Besucher von Dentagen die Möglichkeit, mit Vertretern von Dentsply Sirona und aktiven Anwendern über den modernen zahnmedizinischen Workflow zu sprechen und Fragen zur digitalen Bildgebung zu erörtern. Thematisiert wurden außerdem Hochleistungswerkstoffe wie Celtra Duo und Cercon xt sowie die digitalen Workflows von der Praxis bis zum Labor.
Anschließend hatten die Besucher die Möglichkeit, bei einer Werkstour die Produktionsprozesse zu erleben und einen Einblick in den Entwicklungsprozess zu erhalten. Das lohnte sich besonders, da Bensheim der Entwicklungs- und Produktionsstandort des inLab Systems ist. Dentsply Sirona zählt zu den Unternehmen, die Zahntechnikern ein umfassendes Produktportfolio anbieten können. Die Vertreter von Dentagen konnten in Bensheim einen umfassenden Eindruck vom Prozess der Entwicklung und der Herstellung dieser Produkte gewinnen.
