„Vater des Baukastens“ zu Besuch bei Dentsply Sirona
Hochdifferenzierte Produkte zu weltmarktfähigen Preisen – modulare Baukastensysteme sind hierfür der Schlüssel. Erfunden hat sie Professor Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Ex-Vorstandsmitglied bei Audi. Er zog in Bensheim nun Bilanz.
Individuell konfigurierbare Endprodukte, ohne dabei auf baureihenübergreifende Skaleneffekte verzichten zu müssen: Das ist der Vorteil sogenannter modularer Baukastensysteme. Auch Dentsply Sirona setzt in verschiedenen Fertigungsbereichen auf dieses Modell. Für eine interne Projektveranstaltung der SBU Treatment Centers konnten wir nun einen ganz besonderen Gast gewinnen: Ex-Audi-Vorstandsmitglied Professor Ulrich Hackenberg hielt die Key Note der Veranstaltung. Er gilt als Vordenker dieser Art der Produktion.
Erfolgsfaktor: Interdisziplinäre Teams
Vor etwa 80 Kollegen aus R&D, Produktion, Einkauf und Produktmanagement zog Ulrich Hackenberg in Bensheim Bilanz. Grundvoraussetzung für die erfolgreiche Implementierung von Baukastensystemen sei demnach die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit. Von Anfang an sollten möglichst alle Bereiche des Unternehmens eingebunden sein. Dadurch gewinnen die Unternehmen einen wesentlichen Wettbewerbsvorteil: „Noch immer sind individuelle Produkte für weite Teile der Industrie zu komplex und damit nicht umsetzbar“, erklärte Professor Hackenberg. Innerhalb eines modularen Baukastens jedoch ließen sich über Produktvarianten trotzdem die Bedürfnisse ganz unterschiedlicher Kunden erfüllen.
Die Diskussionen mit Professor Hackenberg waren sehr wertvoll und bestätigten noch einmal, dass der von uns eingeschlagene Weg der Modularisierung der Richtige ist und konsequent weiterverfolgt werden muss.

Baukästen führten VW an die Weltspitze
Professor Ulrich Hackenberg gilt als einer der größten deutschen Experten für den industriellen Einsatz modularer Baukastensysteme. In verschiedenen Positionen in der Entwicklung des Volkswagenkonzerns prägte er die Entstehung von Plattformen und Baukästen entscheidend und trug dadurch maßgeblich dazu bei, Volkswagen an die Weltspitze zu führen. Inzwischen sind die Prinzipien der modularen Baukastensysteme auch in weitere Industriebereiche und sogar in den Dienstleistungssektor vorgedrungen.
