I dipendenti aiutano a migliorare la salute orale nelle loro regioni
Nel precedente numero di Spotlight abbiamo parlato delle iniziative di responsabilità sociale di impresa in cui l'Azienda e i suoi dipendenti sono stati impegnati nel 2018. Questo articolo esamina da vicino due di questi progetti in corso in Belgio e a Taiwan.
Come azienda internazionale con dipendenti e clienti in tutto il mondo, Dentsply Sirona è impegnata nello sviluppo, nella salute e nel benessere dei propri dipendenti e delle comunità in cui vivono e lavorano. Questa affermazione è integrata nella Corporate Social Responsibility Platform dell'Azienda.
I dipendenti delle singole sedi possono sviluppare le loro idee su come personalizzare i propri sforzi per supportare al meglio le esigenze delle comunità locali.

Portare cure dentistiche in un centro sanitario comunitario
Nel 2018, Pieter De Ceuninck, Director Corporate Software R&D (ora Digital Product Group) ha iniziato a cercare modi con cui Dentsply Sirona e i suoi dipendenti in Belgio avrebbero potuto restituire valore alle comunità locali. "L'obiettivo era trovare un progetto che potesse collegare i dipendenti all'aspetto medico del loro lavoro", ha affermato Pieter. L'azienda si è messa in contatto con un'organizzazione sanitaria locale chiamata De Central, a Lovanio, un centro sanitario di quartiere che mira ad aiutare le persone con scarse possibilità ad ottenere assistenza medica. L'organizzazione si concentra fortemente sull'istruzione, la prevenzione e il trattamento di base. Hanno un medico in loco che è un medico di medicina generale ma, con il supporto di Dentsply Sirona, ora c'è uno studio dentistico nello stesso edificio.
Una volta diffusa la voce sulla cooperazione, altri colleghi si sono uniti rapidamente all'impegno, tra cui Richard Althelmig, Commercial Director Benelux. L'organizzazione commerciale del Benelux si è impegnata a fornire tutte le materie prime necessarie per cinque anni per fornire le cure più urgenti - in genere preventive e conservative - gratuitamente, con un dentista a tempo pieno. Dentsply Sirona sta aiutando a sviluppare una campagna di comunicazione per attirare più dentisti dell'area a partecipare al progetto sociale. Avere accesso regolare ai servizi dentistici avrà un impatto notevole sui pazienti di De Central che spesso richiedono cure speciali.
È incredibilmente gratificante per i colleghi vedere e sentire cosa significhi l'odontoiatria per le persone, in particolare per coloro che sono meno fortunati".
I dipendenti hanno l'opportunità di contribuire direttamente anche dando informazioni ai bambini e ai genitori sulle cure dentistiche di base. L'ufficio continua a trovare altri modi per far utilizzare ai dipendenti le proprie capacità, ad esempio attraverso competenza linguistica, progettazione grafica, logistica e volontariato in speciali giorni di screening per i pazienti.
Campagna educativa per la promozione dell'igiene orale a Taiwan
Nonostante una buona copertura dell'assicurazione sanitaria nazionale, l'importanza dell'igiene orale è spesso trascurata dal grande pubblico. I colleghi di Dentsply Sirona Taiwan hanno stabilito che ciò è dovuto alla mancanza di istruzione in materia e hanno quindi deciso di creare una campagna di sensibilizzazione.
Il team ha deciso che la campagna si sarebbe concentrata sulle 88 università della comunità di Taiwan, in cui la maggior parte degli studenti è più grande, in genere 40-60 anni. Un fornitore esterno ha aiutato a stabilire un contatto con le università per far inserire nei loro curricula una lezione di igiene orale. Dentsply Sirona fornisce il relatore, i materiali per le lezioni e un piccolo oggetto come uno spazzolino da denti o un dentifricio.
Nel 2018 sono stati condotti 18 eventi con una media di 50 partecipanti ciascuno e altri 20 eventi sono previsti per quest'anno sulla base del feedback positivo dei partecipanti.
