Questi numeri riflettono la sua capacità nel raggiungere i professionisti del settore odontoiatrico in tutto il mondo. La DS Academy inoltre supporta i futuri professionisti attraverso iniziative come il Global Clinical Case Contest. Per conservare la posizione di leader globale nell’eLearning dentale, l’azienda sta investendo nelle nuove tecnologie per migliorare il modo in cui si accede alla formazione clinica. I team lavorano assieme per sviluppare un sistema di gestione della formazione come piattaforma per la formazione on-line in cui tutte le unità di business possano eseguire i propri programmi CE. Dentsply Sirona continua inoltre ad aprire centri di formazione DS Academy all'avanguardia in tutto il mondo, come le strutture presentate di seguito.
Un altro modo di fare formazione
Come parte del proprio impegno nel permettere ai professionisti di offrire cure migliori e migliorare lo stato della salute dentale in tutto il mondo, Dentsply Sirona sta sviluppando la più ampia selezione di contenuti didattici per sfruttare una varietà senza pari di prodotti e soluzioni dentali. Solo nel 2017, l’azienda ha offerto un totale di 10.786 corsi di formazione clinica in 87 paesi, formando un incredibile numero di 410.460 persone da molte aree differenti dell’industria dentale. Ciò rappresenta un impressionante aumento del 20% rispetto al numero di partecipanti del 2016. I dentisti rappresentano il gruppo più ampio di partecipanti totali e gli studenti sono il secondo gruppo più grande.
Dati e numeri in sintesi.
I principali tipi di programmi offerti nel 2017 sono stati lezioni dal vivo (40%), formazione su prodotti (29%) e formazione pratica (28%). La regione dell’Asia / Pacifico detiene il maggior numero di corsi con una offerta totale di 4.008 nell’anno, superando di poco la regione EMEA con 3.708. Tutte le SBU hanno organizzato corsi nel 2017 prima fra tutte la SBU Endodontics, con 3.294 corsi. I numeri dimostrano l’impegno dell’azienda nel raggiungere i professionisti del dentale e nel supportarli nel fornire il più elevato livello di cura per i propri pazienti. Dentsply Sirona continuerà a supportare i clinici e i tecnici in eventi sponsorizzati come Dentsply Sirona World e Implant Summit.

Pur avendo sempre cura di mettere alla base i principi e le componenti chiave di una cura dentale di qualità, i corsi possono anche aiutare a introdurre metodi, materiali e tecnologie all'avanguardia e i partecipanti possono fornire un feedback prezioso.
Nuova piattaforma aziendale per i corsi di formazione clinica
Ogni anno l'azienda offre una vasta gamma di corsi di formazione clinica in tutto il mondo per l'industria dentale. La maggior parte dei corsi sono tenuti dal vivo da realtori e comprendono lezioni, workshop pratici e/o formazione sul prodotto. Attualmente, i modi in cui i partecipanti si iscrivono e pagano i corsi sono diversi e il processo varia da una SBU all'altra e a seconda delle organizzazioni nazionali. Ciò origina problemi per la raccolta di dati e il monitoraggio delle misure delle performance relative alla crescita dei programmi di formazione.
Nel 2017 la divisione Corporate Clinical Affairs ha ricevuto un investimento strategico per creare un'infrastruttura di eLearning, compreso un Learning Management System (LMS) che consentirà un'erogazione più efficiente dei corsi di eLearning. L'LMS consentirà un processo più uniforme in tutta l'azienda per l'erogazione di corsi di formazione clinica. Una volta pienamente implementato nel 2020, gli event planner di tutto il mondo saranno in grado di creare, gestire e promuovere corsi CE, eventi, webinar e corsi interattivi on-demand in modo più efficiente che mai. Il reparto IT sta lavorando con i team di Marketing e Clinical Affairs all'interno delle organizzazioni commerciali per promuovere l'uso dei webinar come modo per espandere rapidamente i contenuti digitali on-demand.
Domanda crescente di corsi online
Nel 2017, Dentsply Sirona ha offerto 58 webinar e 80 corsi di self-study online su richiesta. L'obiettivo commerciale della divisione Corporate Clinical Affairs è quello di aumentare le opportunità di eLearning del 20% anno dopo anno per i prossimi 5 anni. L'LMS automatizzerà il processo e creerà una grande esperienza utente. Una volta implementati, i partecipanti saranno in grado di iscriversi e frequentare i corsi in modo semplice e senza problemi su qualsiasi dispositivo. Anche gli aspetti amministrativi dei corsi saranno completamente automatizzati, semplificando così la gestione dei programmi da parte dei dipendenti di Dentsply Sirona.
Fasi iniziali di attuazione
Il Learning Management System della formazione clinica sarà attuato in sei fasi. Le pietre miliari iniziali delle prime due fasi dovrebbero essere completate entro la fine dell'anno nel corso del quarto trimestre. Esse comprendono la possibilità per chiunque sia registrato su un sito locale di iscriversi ai rispettivi corsi online. I primi paesi ad ottenere questa funzionalità saranno Regno Unito, Australia, Stati Uniti e Canada, seguiti da Germania, Italia, Spagna, Francia, Svezia e Benelux l'anno prossimo.

Studenti in competizione nel Global Clinical Case Contest
Un'altra iniziativa della Dentsply Sirona Academy è il concorso per studenti per la presentazione di case study clinici in odontoiatria estetica, promosso dalla SBU Restorative.
Il Global Clinical Case Contest (GCCC) è un concorso annuale di odontoiatria estetica organizzato da Dentsply Sirona Restorative. Gli studenti universitari e laureati in odontoiatria con meno di due anni di pratica clinica possono partecipare documentando un caso di un paziente con fotografie e testi. Dal suo avvio nel 2004-2005, hanno partecipato oltre 2600 studenti di odontoiatria. Il GCCC promuove il collegamento tra le Università e Dentsply Sirona. Il concorso è un programma per la promozione di giovani dentisti di talento che aiuta a consolidare i prodotti Dentsply Sirona Restorative come standard di conservativa per la formazione e l'addestramento degli studenti.

Sessione poster a Madrid
Il concorso 2017-2018 ha visto la partecipazione di studenti provenienti da 166 università. Ogni università può designare un tutor per i propri partecipanti ed è autorizzata a presentare fino a tre candidature tramite l'ufficio locale nazionale di Dentsply Sirona. I casi partecipano a un concorso nazionale (o regionale) in cui viene scelto un vincitore per gareggiare nella finale globale in cui i casi vengono presentati a una giuria internazionale di alto livello presso la sede Dentsply Sirona Restorative di Costanza, Germania. I primi tre concorrenti vincono premi in denaro e i loro casi vengono selezionati per la sessione poster al Congresso CED/IADR-NOF di Madrid, Spagna, a settembre 2019.
I vincitori dello scorso anno
Il vincitore globale del 2017 è stato Paul Drehmann dell'Università di Würzburg, Germania, che aveva come tutor la dott.ssa Britta Hahn. Il suo case study ha riguardato un paziente di 72 anni che, dopo aver completato con successo il trattamento parodontale, ha presentato diversi problemi estetici tra cui cambiamenti nella posizione dei denti, andamento irregolare dei margini incisali e perdita parziale delle papille interdentali.
Il caso ha dimostrato che i materiali compositi e le tecniche di stratificazione consentono al medico di ottenere risultati estetici prevedibili e molto soddisfacenti per il paziente.
Un'opzione per il trattamento sarebbe stata quella di ripristinare l'estetica con faccette o corone in ceramica integrale. In questo caso, dopo un'attenta consultazione con il paziente, sono stati scelti restauri in composito diretto minimamente invasivi. Per la pianificazione e la realizzazione del restauro è stato eseguito un wax-up diagnostico digitale. Per creare il contorno palatale dei restauri è stata realizzata una mascherina in silicone. DeTrey Conditioner 36 e Prime&Bond XP sono stati utilizzati secondo le istruzioni del produttore. La combinazione di ceram.x duo D3 ed E2 e ceram.x A3 ha permesso di ottenere un eccellente risultato superficiale. Il caso ha dimostrato che i materiali compositi e le tecniche di stratificazione consentono al medico di ottenere risultati estetici prevedibili e molto soddisfacenti per il paziente.
