In che modo i dipendenti possono supportare queste iniziative di crescita?
Don Casey: Una delle cose pratiche che possiamo fare è pensare ai nostri clienti in modo più olistico - vale a dire pensare di avere un insieme di clienti in ogni mercato piuttosto che una specifica unità di business.
Mi permetta di spiegarglielo con un esempio. Quando ero a Shanghai per l’ultima tappa del World Summit Tour della SBU Implants, ho avuto l’opportunità di parlare con un dentista di fama e molto seguito che usa le nostre apparecchiature ma non i nostri prodotti di consumo. Gli ho chiesto perché non avesse considerato l’idea di divenire nostro partner totale e la sua risposta è stata che nessuno glielo aveva proposto. Dobbiamo pensare a quel che possiamo offrire considerando l’azienda nel suo complesso piuttosto che pensare in termini di specifiche aree di prodotti o SBU.
Dopo avere partecipato a dibattiti pubblici in numerose località, ci sono domande dei dipendenti o discussioni che l’hanno colpita in modo particolare?
Don Casey: Questa è un'ottima domanda. Mi hanno fatto molte domande sullo sviluppo professionale e l’individuazione degli obiettivi. Dobbiamo assicurarci che noi, in qualità di forza lavoro, siamo preparati per la crescita che prevediamo. Per farlo, è di grande importanza avere un riferimento per ogni singolo dipendente e assicurarci che essi riescano a parlare faccia a faccia con il proprio manager relativamente ai loro obiettivi e al loro sviluppo a intervalli regolari. Ciò consentirà di garantire chiarezza nelle reciproche aspettative.
Uno dei nostri dipendenti mi ha chiesto in che modo potesse essere meglio connesso con la leadership e ho riflettuto molto su questa domanda perché è rilevante al fine di rafforzare il coinvolgimento all’interno dell’azienda. Questa iniziativa deve partire dalla leadership stessa e penso che abbiamo cominciato bene con le opportunità della DS Community con interazione tramite Yammer e in modo più ampio con l’indagine sul coinvolgimento globale, che è stata un’opportunità per la nostra forza lavoro di offrire una valutazione onesta delle cose che funzionano e di quelle che non vanno. Spetta a noi ascoltare e io spero di farlo.
Cosa pensa dei risultati iniziali dell’Indagine mondiale sull'Engagement?
Don Casey: Mi ha rincuorato il fatto che oltre tre quarti dei nostri dipendenti ha preso parte all’indagine e spero che quando la ripeteremo il prossimo anno riusciremo a migliorare il tasso di partecipazione di un altro 10 o 15%. Il risultato mostra che solo il 25% dei nostri dipendenti è molto coinvolto e questo è deludente. Detto ciò, vedo un gruppo di persone motivate che si recano al lavoro ogni giorno e sono certo che delineando sempre più una visione comune e lavorando insieme per essa nel corso dei prossimi anni, saremo in grado di migliorare questo risultato.
