Migliorare il controllo delle infezioni con innovazione e formazione
Un corretto controllo delle infezioni è necessario per tutti gli studi. Questo articolo condivide alcune iniziative che il team di esperti della società sta realizzando per promuovere le soluzioni di controllo delle infezioni e per fornire formazione sulle migliori pratiche in tutto il mondo.

Le divisioni Prevenzione e Strumenti si coordinano per fornire soluzioni per l'intera catena di controllo delle infezioni in studi dentistici e cliniche in grado di soddisfare le diverse esigenze dei mercati locali. Queste soluzioni aiutano a ridurre la complessità e migliorare la riproducibilità delle misure di controllo delle infezioni. Dentsply Sirona ha avuto l'opportunità di presentare i suoi prodotti per il ritrattamento manuale e automatico al 19° Congresso mondiale sulla sterilizzazione a Città del Messico e ha anche partecipato a un simposio educativo in Mongolia sul tema del controllo e della prevenzione delle infezioni.
Presentazione della gamma di igiene a un congresso internazionale
Circa 1500 persone provenienti da 50 paesi si sono riunite nel novembre 2018 per il 19° Congresso mondiale sulla sterilizzazione. C'era un ampio programma con presentazioni scientifiche e workshop su una varietà di argomenti riguardanti il ritrattamento dei dispositivi medici. Era la prima volta che il congresso si teneva in America Latina. Poiché eravamo l'unica azienda del dentale tra gli espositori, il team di Dentsply Sirona è rimasto molto colpito sia dall'affluenza che dall'interesse per le soluzioni esposte. Sorprendentemente, non erano solo i dentisti a manifestare interesse.
Gli esperti di igiene di grandi ospedali e rappresentanti delle autorità sanitarie e delle università hanno voluto conoscere gli ultimi sviluppi tecnici per il moderno controllo delle infezioni e la prevenzione in
odontoiatria.
Il team non vede l'ora di partecipare al 20° Congresso mondiale sulla sterilizzazione entro la fine dell'anno a L'Aia, Paesi Bassi.
Simposio tedesco-mongolo sull'igiene ospedaliera
Il controllo delle infezioni per Dentsply Sirona riguarda anche la formazione. La Mongolia ha un'alta incidenza di epatite. Si stima che circa un quinto della popolazione sia affetto da epatite B o C. La malattia si diffonde spesso attraverso infezioni acquisite in ospedale a causa di un basso livello di controllo e prevenzione delle infezioni. Anche le cure odontoiatriche costituiscono un rischio comune per la diffusione dell'epatite.
Nel 2010, i ministeri della salute della Germania e della Mongolia hanno avviato un progetto pilota comune – il Servizio di emergenza mongolo e il Progetto di igiene ospedaliera (MeshHp) – per migliorare la prevenzione delle infezioni negli ospedali. Tra i suoi obiettivi ci sono il miglioramento del ritrattamento dei dispositivi medici per la pulizia, la disinfezione e la sterilizzazione. Nel settembre 2018, Dentsply Sirona è stata invitata a partecipare al Simposio tedesco-mongolo sull'igiene ospedaliera, che si è svolto a Ulaanbaatar. La conferenza ha dedicato un'intera giornata a temi di prevenzione delle infezioni in odontoiatria. Erano presenti un quarto dei dentisti mongoli, un successo in termini di potenziale impatto.
In rappresentanza di Dentsply Sirona, Stella Nehr-Werner, consulente per l'igiene, ha parlato della sterilizzazione degli strumenti nello studio dentistico. Ha spiegato che la pulizia e la disinfezione automatiche sono generalmente l'opzione preferita, se possibile, e che la conformità con le istruzioni del produttore, in particolare per quanto riguarda gli strumenti complessi, fornisce la migliore guida.
Dentsply Sirona continua a cercare attivamente opportunità nel 2019 per supportare il controllo delle infezioni e la prevenzione in odontoiatria e massimizzare il loro impatto.
