Keeping with its belief in improving every possible aspect of the treatment center, there’s a new operating light for Intego.

Having good visibility in the patient’s mouth is imperative for the treatment team as it improves the quality of information available. High quality lighting is becoming increasingly important in regard to patient-satisfaction and wellbeing as it directly influences the results of the treatment. Visitors to the Treatment Centers booth at IDS 2019 had the chance to see Dentsply Sirona’s latest development in operating lights – the LEDlight Plus – in action.

The LEDlight Plus is available for the Intego treatment center and the successor to the former operating light LEDlight. With its increased light field and light quality, cavities can be better illuminated, minimizing the need for readjusting the operating light. Special attention was paid to usability and design so that the light shows the way without getting in the way. 

Clever design with hygiene in mind 

The LEDlight Plus offers a 160x80mm light field providing more than ample illumination at up to 30,000 lux in five levels with a color temperature of 5000 K. Its color rendering index (CRI) exceeds 90 enabling a natural reproduction of colors in the patient mouth. The user can operate the light via a no-touch sensor – an important feature for minimizing any risk of cross-contamination.

Several additional features of the light make hygiene even simpler. LEDlight Plus was designed with smooth surfaces to make cleaning easy. Furthermore, the handles are detachable and can be thermally disinfected and sterilized.

One final innovative attribute that employees can communicate is the True Composite Mode in which the operating light prevents premature hardening when processing light cured filling materials by reducing the blue light component. This feature allows the user to be able to carry out treatments at his/her own preferred pace.
