Of course your immediate reaction could be “Finally!!”, knowing that our SBU was created more than 2 years ago. I prefer another perspective: among countless priorities, we now managed to secure the resources necessary for such a significant endeavor.
We have heard your need to be informed about our key projects, achievements & our focus across departments and across sites. This SBU Newsletter is our answer.
I sincerely hope that you will find the information instructive and pleasant. It is of course about our business and our customers and it is also about you and how you make saving a tooth to improve a life possible in almost every country in the world.

This first publication is released just after the first quarter of the year and after the International Dental Show (IDS), which is the largest dental trade show in the world, with over 155’000 visitors and 2’305 exhibitors from 59 countries. During this major event in our industry, we have launched our new Dentsply Sirona Endodontics branding, positioning ourselves for the first time as one global company. Our DS booth design and educational activities were highly rated by the visiting dentists and cemented the impressive presence of Dentsply Sirona as a market leader. Our VDW booth attracted a remarkable audience too, boosting the tradeshow sales up by an impressive 34% compared to the last edition.
2.6% growth of our sales around the world
Hence I can let you know that, thanks to all your efforts, we managed to secure a robust first quarter. We enjoyed a 2.6% growth of our sales around the world! This growth will further accelerate in the coming months, as we have a promising new product pipeline and exciting initiatives being deployed in many markets. You will find out more about this in the next sections of our newsletter.
In addition, our contribution to the Dentsply Sirona profit increased sharply over prior year.
To maintain the trend, we will continue to focus on executing our winning strategies and product launches. Synergies with other SBUs such as Restorative and Imaging will continue to develop successfully as we contribute significantly to the creation of “The Dental Solutions Company™”.
In terms of major Endodontics events, we can’t let the AAE (American Association of Endodontists) congress pass unnoticed.
Know that the US team took advantage of this event held in the end of April to introduce our new branding to the American market. This was also the right stage for the launch of a DS punchy response to the increasing presence of a value file competitor, which is trying to convince our customers that a half-quality & half-price product is good enough for the American market…

Our long term investment into research, education and innovation need to be better enhanced so that the endodontists can continue to make the best decision for their patients. It will be the case after AAE 2017!
