Team effort launches new eCommerce sites
Already accounting for over $22 trillion of total retail sales globally, eCommerce is the future of business. Dentsply Sirona has invested in best-in-class infrastructure to make this a reality.
In the fourth quarter of 2017 alone, the corporate global eCommerce platform was successfully launched in Sweden for Implants, in Germany for Orthodontics, and in the UK for Preventive, Restorative, and Endodontics. The launches involve extensive teamwork across functions at the CCOs, SBUs, and Corporate, including IT, Marketing, Manufacturing/Supply Chain, eCommerce, Sales, Customer Service, Clinical Affairs, and Legal teams. One example of an eCommerce project that involved collaboration across several SBUs is the recent launch of the Quick Order Mobile tool in the US and Canada that helps customers place their orders quickly and conveniently by allowing them to ‘scan’ barcodes on product packages with their mobile devices. Preventive, Restorative, and Canadian web team members supported the Endodontic and Implant teams in the US in delivering this critical eCommerce solution. Initial customer feedback was very positive and a coordinated marketing campaign reached approximately 150,000 customers for the launch.
Additional projects are active in the US, Australia, and France with other country implementations under consideration during 2018. Another important development in 2018 will be creating a streamlined eCommerce experience where it is easier to find, select, and purchase products.
Over the past year, we have worked to solicit global feedback from our eCommerce customers in order to understand their current experience and expectations. Acting on the voice of the customer, we are pleased to be launching an initiative to streamline the shopping experience on www.dentsplysirona.com to increase the ease of ordering for our customers.
