Acting with integrity and complying with all applicable laws and regulations is especially important for a company that interacts with healthcare professionals and whose products and services ultimately touch patients. The work of the Ethics & Compliance Team helps to reduce risks to the Company and protect Dentsply Sirona’s positive reputation. The Global Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Department also importantly provides employees with a safe, confidential hotline to report concerns. In an industry built upon trust – between manufacturers and sales organizations, sales organizations and practitioners, practitioners and patients – being known as THE ethical organization with uncompromising intergrity is essential and is another opportunity to set Dentsply Sirona apart from the competition.

The Ethics & Compliance organization is a team of 11 associates based around the globe with the sole focus of helping Denstsply Sirona employees understand and abide by the laws and regulations of a publicly traded US company and by the laws of every country in which Dentsply Sirona conducts business Particular areas of focus include anticorruption and bribery laws, international trade sanctions compliance, anti-fraud precautions, global data privacy & protection requirments, and assuring appropriate interactions with healthcare professionals and the distributive network. To help understand how to appropriately interact with healthcare professionals, Dentsply Sirona publishes its Marketing to Professionals Code of Conduct which is supplemented by its Expert Engagement.

The team works to be a foundation for the Company and its employees to foster an environment that minimizes compliance risks and protects the brand and its reputation for acting with integrity.
The Ethics & Compliance program relies first and foremost on the integrity and diligence of employees. Hence the main focus of the team is to assure that all 16,000 employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to make informed decisions or, at a minimum, to know where to seek answers to the complex questions facing the largest dental provider in a complex and highly regulated industry operating in over 120 countries. This is accomplished through the Code of Conduct and other policies and procedures as well as the compliance assessment program and systems such as the Learning Management System and the Ethics Hotline.

The Ethics Hotline is particularly important to the program as it gives every employee a voice and the opportunity to highlight concerns or just ask questions in a risk-free environement. In order to increase awareness about the hotline, the Ethics & Compliance Team created posters that are available in 20 different languages. The posters advertise the relevant toll-free number for various geographies. Many locations around the world have already received hotline posters to hang up at their location but if a location has not, please go to the Ethics & Compliance site where you will find downloadable posters for you to print and hang up at your location.
