The internal wellness programs, Strive and Stay Fit, promoted healthy living through a variety of campaigns and activities. For 2017, the Corporate Benefits team at Dentsply Sirona spent time revamping the entire Wellness Campaign.

The new wellness program combines the best elements of both former companies’ wellness programs. The new slogan for the program, “Health Matters,” recognizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Dentsply Sirona is dedicated to equipping all of its employees with the necessary tools to succeed in their personal goals.

Focus Areas 2017

The new program is organized into four quarterly focus areas. This year the focus areas were:

Quarter 1 – Oral Health

Quarter 2 – Physical Health

Quarter 3 – Occupational Health & Safety

Quarter 4 – Nutrition

Global program, locally adapted

To give the program additional flexibility, the responsibility for leading the campaigns is given to each business unit so that different ideas can be tried out locally. In Europe, several locations will continue to participate in races and events with a Dentsply Sirona team. For example, the Salzburg location has both a business run and a cycle challenge. The York offices will be hosting another walking challenge and the team is anticipating expanding this challenge out to the whole of the U.S. Another example from the York offices is the “Wednesday Wellness Tip” offering recommendations on a topic that fits within the focus area of the current quarter.

Health week in Colombia

Employees with Dentsply Sirona in Colombia participated in a health week as part of the “Vida Saludable” (Healthy Life) program. During the week, employees had the opportunity to get medical assessments, free vaccinations, take part in a Zumba class, eat a healthy breakfast, as well as participate in sports activities to promote healthy living. Elena Roa, an Administrative Assistant, shared her sentiment that, “The health week made me realize that Dentsply Sirona values its employees so much to be given a week full of benefits.”

As part of the healthy life program, Dentsply Sirona Colombia also implemented a weight control initiative to motivate employees to achieve self-set goals, such as losing, maintaining or gaining weight. To help employees achieve these goals, Dentsply Sirona Colombia cooperates with a gym nearby the office in Bogotá offering special employee rates.
