Education with a view over Jakarta

Spotlight is committed to sharing news from locations all over the world, keeping employees up-to-date on the latest office moves and facility openings. Colleagues in Indonesia recently celebrated their move and renovation.

In May of 2019, Dentsply Sirona in Indonesia underwent a legal name change to reflect the merger. The 29 employees moved into a new combined office on the 28th floor of the Tempo Scan Tower in Jakarta. The newly constructed Dentsply Sirona Indonesia Center for Dentistry is more than just an office. It includes an educational center with roughly over 25 seats for demonstrations and training sessions as part of the Dentsply Sirona Academy as well as a showroom.

On June 22nd, nearly 100 guests including local dental professionals, ministry and university representatives as well as members of the press gathered in the new 820 square-meter facility for an opening ceremony celebration. A ribbon cutting ceremony followed as well as a Tumpeng Cutting Ceremony. Tumpeng is a ceremonial dish with a cone-shaped mountain of rice at the center, surrounded by a variety of side dishes, with its origins in Javanese cuisine.

Guests enjoyed watching traditional Indonesian dances throughout dinner and had the chance to win prizes in a quiz.

Eric Kroegel, Country Manager for Indonesia, and Julien Didron, General Manager South East Asia, gave the opening speeches.

The colleagues in Indonesia are proud to show off the possibilities of the new center to the local dental community. Guests at the opening were impressed by both the striking, open design of the showroom and the incredible view from the training area. Edy Gunawan, Professional Service Manager, said, “Not only is the new office an exciting place to come to work, but we have a stunning area to bring clients from the local dental community to view and handle our newest innovations. On top of that, we can offer them world-class training with internationally renowned presenters in an environment that matches.” The office intends to increase its educational program offering by 20 courses per year.
