Vous êtes venu à Dentsply Sirona avec une connaissance approfondie de l'industrie des soins de santé et du secteur dentaire. Comment avez-vous connu Dentsply Sirona au cours des derniers mois et qu'est-ce qui vous a le plus marqué ?
Nick Alexos : J'ai un certain nombre d'années d'expérience de travail avec l'industrie dentaire et j'ai développé une profonde compréhension du marché. Depuis que j'ai rejoint Dentsply Sirona, j'ai essayé de rencontrer autant de personnes que possible en visitant des sites à travers le monde et en allant à des salons professionnels pour rencontrer des clients et des distributeurs. La base de talents de nos employés et leur engagement envers les produits et le client sont assurément ce qui m'a le plus marqué.
Qu'aimeriez-vous que les employés sachent de vous ?
Nick Alexos : J'aimerais que mes employés me connaissent en tant que personne : j'ai une femme et trois enfants aux États-Unis et je viens du monde de l'investissement, mais j'ai des antécédents avec l'industrie dentaire et avec l'organisation Sirona en tant que membre du Conseil d'administration de Sirona Dental Services.
Gérer les risques accrus auxquels les organisations publiques sont confrontées aujourd'hui est essentiel pour atteindre les objectifs de l'entreprise. Comment la société Dentsply Sirona gère-t-elle son exposition globale au risque ?
Nick Alexos : La chose la plus importante que nous puissions faire est de disposer des bonnes personnes et d'avoir une relation honnête avec notre personnel, une bonne formation et une communication ouverte afin que les employés ne s'inquiètent pas de partager des problèmes si et quand ils surviennent. Nos employés sont les yeux et les oreilles de la Société et ils doivent être également à l'affut des risques. Un autre point fondamental pour gérer les risques est d'avoir des systèmes informatiques efficaces.
Y a-t-il un risque réglementaire ou fiscal particulier sur lequel vous vous concentrez ou qui vous cause le plus d'inquiétudes ?
Nick Alexos : Il n'y a pas de risque qui me préoccupe en particulier d'un point de vue réglementaire ou fiscal. Oui, il y a de la volatilité avec les devises, les taux d'imposition changent et il y a toujours de nouvelles réglementations. Il y a donc beaucoup de choses à surveiller et auxquelles il faut faire attention. En tant qu'entreprise, il est impératif d'être sensible aux nouvelles règles concernant la protection des données et de la vie privée. La bonne nouvelle est que beaucoup de personnes sont conscientes de cela et prennent le temps de s'y préparer.
Un peu plus tôt cette année, un changement important a été apporté à l'organisation de l'Audit interne : la société Ernst & Young assume désormais un rôle crucial dans la supervision de l'exécution et la livraison générale des audits au sein de Dentsply Sirona. Quel est le contexte de ce changement ?
Nick Alexos : Mon point de vue personnel sur l'Audit interne est que sa mission devrait non seulement consister à identifier les risques mais aussi les opportunités opérationnelles dans l'entreprise. Ernst & Young, qui est un cabinet comptable mondial que je connais très bien, agira comme une relation de co-sourcing avec l'équipe d'audit interne. Nous faisons appel à une société externe dans le but d'élargir les compétences et améliorer les capacités des membres de notre équipe interne et également parce que j'espère que nous allons bénéficier de l'expérience et de la perspective d'un consultant externe. Sur le long terme, je compte bien que cela redevienne une fonction complètement interne.
Les employés verront-ils des changements ou remarqueront-ils des différences dans leur vie professionnelle quotidienne ?
Nick Alexos : En matière de changements que les employés vont remarquer, j'espère d'une part que les auditeurs seront les bienvenus. Nos bureaux doivent être prêts à travailler avec eux et, à terme, l'expérience devrait permettre d'améliorer les performances des personnes impliquées, que ce soit dans l'équipe d'audit mais aussi pour les équipes de nos différents sites à travers le monde. D'un autre côté, j'aimerais faire de l'Audit interne une opportunité de carrière attrayante pour accepter une mission sur plusieurs années, puis transmettre ce qui a été appris à d'autres parties de l'entreprise. L'Audit interne est en fait un domaine très intéressant. Les membres de l'équipe peuvent voyager à travers le monde, développer un vaste réseau et se familiariser avec nos risques, opérations et système de contrôle.
L'activité d'approvisionnement mondiale est également un acteur important pour générer plus de valeur pour la société et garantir sa capacité de croissance. Comment se présente la mise en place de cette équipe ?
Nick Alexos : L'activité d'approvisionnement au niveau mondial sera désormais répartie entre trois équipes en fonction du type d'approvisionnement qu'elles gèrent. L'approvisionnement n'est plus considéré comme une seule activité. Nous avons identifié trois types d'approvisionnements différents : Les dépenses contractuelles indirectes, les dépenses transactionnelles indirectes et les dépenses directes. La raison de cette division est que le fait de disposer de personnes plus dévouées pour chacun de ces secteurs produira plus de valeur que d'avoir tous les domaines d'approvisionnement dans une seule fonction consolidée.
