Un catalogue d'hygiène présenté lors d'un congrès international
Environ 1 500 personnes de 50 pays se sont rassemblées lors du 19è Congrès mondial de la stérilisation. Le programme était complet avec des présentations scientifiques et des ateliers sur le retraitement des dispositifs médicaux. Pour la première fois, le congrès se tenait en Amérique Latine. L'équipe de Dentsply Sirona, seul exposant de technologie dentaire, a été impressionnée par l'affluence et l'intérêt pour ses solutions. Et pas uniquement en provenance de dentistes.
Des experts en hygiène de grands hôpitaux et des représentants des autorités sanitaires et d'universités sont venus découvrir les dernières technologies de contrôle et de prévention modernes des infections en dentisterie
Cette année, l'équipe prévoit de participer au 20ème congrès à La Haye (Pays-Bas).
Symposium germano-mongole sur l'hygiène à l'hôpital
Chez Dentsply Sirona la préventiondes infections inclut une composante éducative. La Mongolie connaît un taux élevé d'hépatite. On estime qu'environ 1/5è de la population est infectée par l'hépatite B ou C. Cette maladie est souvent transmise par des infections nosocomiales en raison d'un faible niveau de contrôle et de prévention des infections. Les procédures dentaires font partie des voies de diffusion de l'hépatite.
En 2010, les ministères allemand et mongole de la santé ont lancé un projet pilote, le Mongolian Emergency Service and Hospital Hygiene Project (MeshHp) – pour améliorer la prévention des infections à l'hôpital. Un des objectifs est l'amélioration du retraitement des dispositifs médicaux pour le nettoyage, la désinfection et la stérilisation. En septembre 2018, Dentsply Sirona a participé au symposium germano-mongole sur l'hygiène à l'hôpital de Oulan-Bator. La conférence a abordé des thèmes sur la prévention des infections toute la journée. Un quart des dentistes mongoles étaient présents. C'est un succès en termes d'impact potentiel.
Stella Nehr-Werner, Hygiene Consultant qui représentait Dentsply Sirona, a parlé du retraitement des instruments dans les cabinets dentaires. Elle a expliqué que le nettoyage et la désinfection automatiques sont préférables et qu'il convient de se référer aux instructions du fabricant, surtout pour les instruments complexes.
En 2019, Dentsply Sirona recherche toujours des opportunités pour soutenir le contrôle et la prévention des infections en dentisterie et maximiser son impact.
