Digital platforms move forward
Spotlight continues to update readers on the newest features of the DS Community as well as refreshers about how to best take advantage of the digital workplace. The Lab SBU has launched a blog and Connections has relaunched with an update helping the HR division to become even more transparent.
One stop to meet everyone's needs: since the rollout in January, the DS Community has become increasingly essential to the daily work routine. The ability to personalize the DS Community experience is one of the most important and well-liked features. Thanks to the personalized app launcher and the introduction of content that is specific for particular groups of employees, the DS Community can be further individualized.
The last Spotlight issue noted that content from legacy intranets would be transferred onto the DS Community. By the end of this year, five major legacy intranet sites will move to the DS Community.
How the personalized app launcher works
The app launcher gives users quick and easy access to apps that are needed for their work. In addition to global apps, country-specific apps are also offered. These can be chosen by selecting them. It is also possible to create personal shortcuts by simply entering the URL of the desired website and saving the entry. By default, profiles are connected to the digital version of Spotlight so that everyone can access and browse the latest articles from colleagues around the world.
One way of using the app launcher in the DS Community by editing personal links.

DS Community Ambassadors wanted!
The platform depends on everyone’s participation. Interaction and active networking – sharing, liking, commenting – are explicitly encouraged. Employees help shape the future of the digital landscape at Dentsply Sirona through their use of and interaction with the platform. DS Community Ambassadors play a more specific role in shaping the DS Community either by promoting the use of the platform or by writing articles themselves as editors.
Lab SBU starts its own blog
Tom Leonardi, Group Vice President of the Lab SBU, is now a featured blogger for his team. The Lab SBU’s new blog aims to raise awareness for the business unit by sharing outstanding, relevant information with a personal touch, such as product news and launches, event reviews, SBU updates as well as background information relevant to dental labs. Employees and clients from specific markets are encouraged to discuss and exchange their views on the blog. Set up as part of the corporate blog, the Lab SBU’s blog can be found here: blog.dentsplysirona.com
Great blogs share captivating news. If you have outstanding, relevant news that should be known to a wider audience, help the Lab SBU raise its profile and get in touch via the new blog.
Connections: Charts show team constellations and job vacancies
Of particular interest to employees in locations that use the digital Connections Platform is that with the relaunch of "Connections" on August 6, the process of job advertisement and personnel management became much simpler and more transparent. Both staffed and vacant positions are displayed in the organization charts of Connections. Tasks, job code and location are assigned directly to the position. There is also an advantage for the finance department in that the data on personnel changes and newly available jobs are automatically forwarded to the Operational Leader and the responsible employees in the controlling or finance departments.
If there are any questions or suggestions for improvements to Connections, please contact your local HR colleague or send an email to: connections.team@dentsplysirona.com
