International Women's Day 2020

On the 8^th March the MENA team celebrated International Women’s Day.

Our theme for this event was called 'Celebrating Life'. We understand that the day was about showing gratitude about the many wonderful attributes of being a woman. We were spoiled with fresh luscious gifts from our GM, and each women received a rose.

It was also about how we appreciate each other and feel the gratitude of working with each other in the exciting city of Dubai and the livliness and vibrancy of the life in our region.

The women reflected more so, close to home where we shared a gratitude prayer to the lives of the people that impacted, in memory of their life.

There was many foods to be had of different cultures, and with good food and good company always comes good stories and laughter.

International Women’s Day is about the people that brings life and that is the mothers and daughters around the table, however more so how special it is to keep in memory family members and friends who are no longer with us and to celebrate them as well.

A woman is an important part in our society and in our business. They bring instinctively natural talents in business like Creativity, Collaboration, Warmth, Intuition and Diversity in the skills set they provide.

In MENA, we asked some of our inspirational women, “What are you most passionate about in your life and how do you integrate that passion in your professional life?”.

Here were some of their responses, which we loved and we thought we would share with you all:

While I enjoy many things in life, what I enjoy the most is spending time with my family. I therefore consider my family being my biggest passion. My children inspire me to do my best in everything I do including my work life. They taught me to be patient, not to be afraid of challenges, cherish and enjoy every moment of life. Children are our true wonders and we think we teach them , however they teach us. In this way I bring those same qualities to work when I take care of the office, events for our people and taking care of our GM. I do this with a patient attitude in a very busy atmosphere.

Feruza Kamalova (PA to the GM)

In general I’m passionate about everything in my life, every day when I wake up I feeling happy that I’m still alive and breathing . I am grateful that I have a beautiful country , home, family ,health ,friends, work and achievements. However the thing that makes me the happiest , is my cats. They are like family to me , and I enjoy having them as company. They are my source of positivity and allow me to always think on the bright side. Hence my vision for work is , I never fail , I am always learning based on the inspiration I find in animals and how I incorporate it in my day to day.

Abeer Salaman (Regulatory)

People still judge a book by its cover, and we judge other people by what we see on the outside. For salespeople, it's vital to take this into account before you meet with potential customers, how you brand yourself and what you look like in a professional setting. In a sales situation you'll meet with a given prospect only once or twice, so projecting the right appearance from the start is crucial – there is almost never a second chance. That’s why I am using my passion for life styling and fashion to give the best appearance and first impression that reflects my high-standards and the one of my company. This will project a sense of confidence, self-awareness and also that I deem my customer as important .

Malek Najar (Sales)

I’m passionate about dancing. I love the process of learning new dance steps and trends and how it unfolds between the body and mind. Dancing for me is a good way to relax after a busy week. Recently, I posted a dance challenge video with my husband, which created excitement in my community of friends and also challenged them to achieve something they did not deem possible. I also feel that it helps me to be more motivated in other aspects of my life, like work and being a mother. I believe in a dancing attitude of a person is very important because discipline simply means learning. In dancing you need to persevere to follow the steps and movements( No short cut). To be able to perfect the moves and routines you need to know when to follow and when to lead. And all of these disciplines I am applying in my role. I need to be discipline, persistent and follow procedures and policy, as we do not want a creative accountant, we need a balanced accountant.

Dianne Caulo-Tumanguil (Finance)

I am a sales person so meeting new people and building relationships with them is my daily routine. My passion is reading many different books, and stories as I believe each book has a font of wisdom to reveal itself. I sometimes implement my readings and try to discover how people will react to it and it is so enjoyable to see the results and outcomes of what I read. I’m also a dentist so Digital dentistry attracts me so much ; reading about it and passing on my knowledge to other dentist and lab technicians feels so rewarding. Educating our Customers is important for me in creating awareness and sales through Knowledge and Wisdom.

Marwa Kodmany (Sales)

I have always been passionate about art and design in all its aspects: fashion design, interior design, handmade creation… accordingly I decided to follow my passion and I started fashion design that more represents my personality. An artist is a creative and innovative person, always in search of perfection and excellence with an eye for details. Those qualities really helped me in my professional life, especially in Customer Service, because our main objective is to achieve excellence in our relationships with our customers, by providing the best service and by paying attention to details. However what I love most is that at work it’s never a routine, I am always using my creativity to explore different ways to do my job. To look at different ways of connecting with my customer and delivering a service to them beyond expectation.

Sawsan Skeif (Customer Services)
