Dentsply Sirona understands the importance of a healthy workforce. US employees coul participate in this year’s walking challenge during the third quarter to help stay healthy in a fun, informative way.
Employees across the US can took part in the 2019 ‘King of the Hill’ Walking Challenge. On Sunday, September 1, participants could begin tracking their steps through Friday, September 27. The goal was to reach 8,000 steps per day by gradually increasing the step count each week.
The challenge is an initiative supporting the Global Wellness Program’s third- quarter theme of “Physical Health and Wellness.” Participants could either manually track their steps each day by wearing a pedometer or sync their preferred app to track steps through the Wellness Portal. One of the fun features of this challenge was a Live Leader Board, motivating participants to be the top mover each week. It’s a great way to kick-start a plan to increase movement in time for the weather to begin to cool down or to learn just how much you move around everyday.
Two ways to win
Different from previous years, the 2019 walking challenge will have two categories for prizes. All participants, regardless of how their steps are tracked, will be entered into a random drawing. Of those who submit their steps throughout the challenge, 10 winners will be drawn at random, and will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
The top 10 participants who pair a smart device and have the most steps during the challenge will also win a $100 Amazon gift card. This is an extra incentive to track steps using a connected device as those who manually track their steps are not eligible for a top 10 prize.
The winners of the King of the Hill Challenge will be announced in October. Additional information regarding the 2019 Walking Challenge will be released in the coming weeks!
