Local Community Support: Employee Gift Committee year-end giving report
York employees supported their local community in many ways during 2016. Dentsply Sirona pledged a total of $100,205 in support of the United Way. This total includes the company matching donation and individual donations, pledges and funds raised through special events.
Employees contributed in many fun and important ways:
32 Preventive employees participated in the “Pie in the Face”
45 DNA employees purchased Walking Tacos
50 Global Headquarters employees purchased Joy’s cupcakes to raise funds
Prosthetics sold 160 Walking Tacos and raised money during the Safety Fair
Ben Wilkie once again organized the silent auction, and many employees “won” some wonderful donated gifts while supporting a great cause
Special events fund-raising supported the 2016 Spotlight Agency, New Hope Ministries, a social service agency that serves families and individuals by offering crisis assistance programs, stability and workforce development programs, in addition to after school and summer youth programs.
Colleagues participated in the 2016 Habitat for Humanity build days. In total, 18 employees provided 116 hours of volunteer service across the three build days in 2016.
Angel Tree Donations made the holidays happier for 185 children in our community. DNA and Preventive supported the Children’s Home of York and provided gifts for 75 children. Global Headquarters donated gifts for 60 children served by Bell Socialization Services. Preventive employees donated gifts for 50 children served by Children, Youth and Families of York.
York employees also supported the Make a Wish Foundation helping a local three-year-old child with congenital heart disease and his family make his wish of visiting Disney World come true.
2017 Spotlight Agency
Family First Health, a community health center with six locations in York, Adams, and Lancaster Counties, has been selected as the 2017 Spotlight Agency. Family First provides medical, dental, social, women’s health, and behavioral health services. The previous York local edition highlighted their “Kids Against Cavities Program” which is a mobile, pediatric oral healthcare service.
It is a great feeling helping those that are in need or less fortunate in our local community.
Supporting these organizations and events embodies Dentsply Sirona’s values, builds community across the Company, and serves others.

Corporate Social Responsibility at Dentsply Sirona
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has many different definitions but commonly refers to the responsibility an organization takes for its impact on communities, society, and the environment. Dentsply Sirona seeks to make a positive impact on the communities in which the Company is located as well as on the broader global community first and foremost through its vision of improving oral health worldwide.
In that spirit, the Corporate Social Responsibility Platform demonstrates the Company’s commitment to making a difference. There are a myriad of ways in which Dentsply Sirona and its employees work to make a difference and give back. For example, each year the Company donates innovative equipment to support foundations such as the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Mission of Mercy providing free dental care to people in need without the means to pay for it. On a more local level here in York, in 2016, employees supported a number of charities and organizations working in the local area and raised over $100,000 in matching Company and individual donations for the United Way.
Dentsply Sirona is fully committed to the principles outlined in the platform. The full document detailing the entire CSR Platform can be found online by visiting the Corporate website.
