Atender laboratórios de prótese dentária há muito tempo faz parte dos negócios da Dentsply Sirona. Em 2018, várias partes da Empresa se uniram para formalizar o que hoje é conhecido como DS Lab. Hoje, a equipe oferece uma incrível variedade de produtos e soluções que melhoram os fluxos de trabalho dos técnicos de laboratório e mudaram a forma como os consultórios odontológicos se comunicam e trabalham com os laboratórios escolhidos.
O negócio Lab envolve técnicos dentais de todo o mundo, trabalhando em laboratórios de todos os tamanhos. Em estreita cooperação com as Organizações Comerciais do País (CCOs), o DS Lab oferece tudo, desde equipamentos, software, materiais, até o treinamento necessário para o sucesso de laboratórios e técnicos de prótese dentária para atender seus clientes dentistas.
A equipe do Laboratório é composta por cerca de 1.500 funcionários. Eles tiveram uma série de sucessos recentes, incluindo o desenvolvimento de fluxos de trabalho digitais para fresamento e impressão de materiais para próteses totais. Quais são as tendências e fatores mais importantes que influenciam os clientes de laboratórios odontológicos que os funcionários devem estar cientes?
Julie Mroziak: A transformação digital dos laboratórios odontológicos e das práticas clínicas é bastante dinâmica e tornou ainda mais importante para o setor de laboratórios e seus funcionários entender as tendências que estão acontecendo para que possamos nos concentrar nos desenvolvimentos de produtos e inovações certos para atender às suas necessidades. Os laboratórios são digitais há muitos anos no segmento de coroas e pontes. Com nosso sistema inLab de software de design, scanner de mesa e equipamento de fresagem, além de uma ampla gama de materiais digitais, como Cercon zircônia e vidro de alta resistência Celtra Duo, temos uma posição forte para estabelecer fluxos de trabalho digitais em outros segmentos de próteses.
Diante dessa transformação digital, temos que conhecer e compreender os principais fluxos de trabalho do laboratório para sermos também um parceiro inovador em seu processo de mudança da fabricação analógica para a digital de próteses totais digitais. As tendências e situações básicas nos países são diferentes, mas existem alguns pontos em comum. Devido à tendência de consolidação dos laboratórios, o tamanho dos laboratórios está mudando. Alguns laboratórios estão se tornando maiores e outros laboratórios menores estão focados em dispositivos e procedimentos de nicho. Com o número de laboratórios fechando suas portas, há menos técnicos odontológicos na maioria dos mercados. É cada vez mais difícil para os laboratórios contratar técnicos qualificados para o seu negócio de próteses dentárias. E eles estão sob pressão econômica para manter o fornecimento de restaurações e próteses dentárias de alta qualidade a um preço acessível.
Precisamos entender as diferenças de mercado para mercado com nossas Organizações Comerciais do País para ter certeza de que temos as tecnologias, materiais, serviços e ferramentas certos para essa transição de mercado. Quais tecnologias e inovações os funcionários da empresa devem estar mais cientes?
JM: Existem tantas inovações excelentes e dinâmicas de produtos no setor de laboratórios. Recentemente, lançamos nosso inLab SW 20.0 com um fluxo de trabalho de design de prótese digital completo para caixas cheias. Sua indicação de prótese total também fornece fluxos de trabalho contínuos, validados e abertos. Sempre recomendamos o fluxo de trabalho contínuo no qual as tecnologias Dentsply Sirona e os materiais correspondentes são usados desde o scanner inEos X5 e o software inLab até a unidade de fresamento inLab MC X5. Em termos de materiais, oferecemos o Disco Base de Prótese Lucitone 199 para fresar a base da prótese e os Dentes de Prótese Digital 3D IPN, que foram desenvolvidos especialmente para o fluxo de trabalho digital. No entanto, quem desejar também pode trabalhar em modo validado e usar produtos de nossos parceiros validados. E como o inLab ainda é um sistema aberto, também é possível usar componentes abertos de outros fabricantes. Fornecemos uma exportação de arquivo no formato STL para a transferência de dados.
Lucitone Digital Print 3D Denture Resin é a primeira base de prótese para impressão de alto impacto liberada pela FDA que chegou ao mercado. O fluxo de trabalho de impressão inclui cinco produtos principais do sistema de material: Resina de dentadura 3D para impressão digital Lucitone, Dentes para dentadura digital 3D IPN, Resina de colocação de teste 3D Lucitone Digital Try-In, sistema de colagem de dentadura 3D Lucitone Digital Fuse 3 etapas e unidade de processamento inLab Speedcure. Temos parceria com uma empresa chamada Carbon, de San Francisco, Califórnia, que é líder em tecnologia de impressão. Os materiais e a impressora Carbon M-series são projetados, testados e validados para funcionarem juntos. O sistema está atualmente disponível nos Estados Unidos e estamos trabalhando para ajudar a expandir para outros países onde as impressoras Carbon M-series estão disponíveis.
A Digital Dentures, com nossos processos e tecnologias, realmente despertou Key Opinion Leaders que se sentem rejuvenescidos para trabalhar com o DS Lab. É incrível ver como eles estão animados em fazer parceria conosco e impulsionar a tecnologia. Recentemente, recebemos 30 especialistas em nossas instalações em Hanau para um evento educacional. A importância das dentaduras digitais para os laboratórios ficou evidente no Lab Day do 2020 Chicago Midwinter Meeting, que ocorreu em fevereiro. Nossas soluções de prótese digital foram o ponto alto da feira. Este sucesso foi possível graças ao nosso pessoal se unir e colaborar para criar um produto com foco no cliente. Três equipes reuniram seus conhecimentos: de Bensheim, Alemanha, com foco em equipamentos inLab, software, scanners, sistemas de sinterização; o grupo em Hanau, Alemanha, concentrou-se em cerâmica de revestimento e tecnologia de zircônia; e os colegas de York, Pensilvânia, EUA, se concentraram em todos os materiais relacionados à impressão 3D e dentaduras fresadas para trabalhar juntos em fusos horários e geografia. Queremos assumir um papel de liderança na área de próteses digitais. Como próximo passo na colaboração, estamos analisando como integrar nossos parceiros da equipe de implantes em nossos fluxos de trabalho e treinamento no futuro.
